Home, but not sitting still

This is my 4th day at home, but just because I'm back home that doesn't mean I've slowed down. Spent a fairly quiet Saturday and Sunday at home, which was nice. Yesterday, however, my dad and I drove down to Monterey to visit the aquarium and just see the area again. It was so much fun. I love getting to hang out with my dad for a day, and I love Monterey. I honed my photography skills a bit with help from my dad, and even got to play with his camera a bit. :) We were super tired at the end of the day (we did a LOT of walking), but it was definitely worth it. Oh, and if you've never seen the Monterey Bay Aquarium, you really should. In my book, it's the best aquarium ever (but I won't fight you on that point, because I haven't seen a lot of the big aquariums in the country). So, here are a few pictures I took throughout the day.

The sea otters are, and will always be, my favorite. :)

Aren't they just too cute?!

View from one of the decks at the aquarium.

Seals near a dock at one of the beaches...they were pretty close.

Different seals on the other side of the dock...they were even closer.

And the closest seal of all...he was definitely within arm's reach. Of course, if I'd tried to touch him, I wouldn't have much of an arm left.

Cormorants, seals, and pelicans, all gathered on the rocks.

An Asian freshwater otter.

Jellies! I named them Squishy. :)

Moon jellies, I think.

Overall, a very very good day. :) By the way, does anyone know where I could get a pet otter?

  1. I like the Finding Nemo reference. The Tennessee Aquarium is very good, but I don't know how it compares to the Monterey Aquarium.

  2. I have two pet otters--they are named Matthew and Jacob. Of course, they were more otter-y a few years ago, but I think you get it.
