Yes, it's that time of year again, when Covenant students cram into a chapel to cheer for professors and listen to bagpipes, when squeals of reunion can be heard all over campus, and when seniors get a rude awakening as to how little time they have left, and how much they still have to do. :) Although, I think Abs said it best today when she said that she had senioritis in a good way, a way that caused her to want to enjoy every class, every moment she still had at school. I think that's a good reminder that senior year is not all about SIP...crud, I promised myself I wouldn't talk about that! Although, if anyone out there gets a brilliant idea for a biology SIP, please let me know ASAP. ;)
Classes should be really fun this year! I'm super excited about Genetics, the class I've been wanting to take since forever (i.e. freshman year)...should be a fair amount of work, but cool. Special Topics in Biology is going to cover vesicular transport in the Golgi body, which scares me a bit because I've never gone this in depth on anything, and I have to do 3 presentations throughout the semester, but I'm glad that I have to do all that since I'll have to do a lot of things like that in future work. Research with Dr. Zuidema is going to be a blast, particularly since this year I know where everything is and I know more about what I'm doing. :) Similarly, helping in the Biochem and Organic labs should be fun.
I was a bit sad yesterday when I realized that the next time we would hear the bagpipes playing like that would be at our graduation...yikes! Plus, it's the last convocation for the seniors...dang it, and I just finally memorized the words and alto part to All For Jesus!! :) Ah well, I suppose that's about it for now...more to come (possibly) as events warrant.
It's so good to have you back. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow. BTW, we have college fellowship at our house tomorrow evening.
ReplyDeleteOver at UTC we can take genetics in our junior year. However, there are other classes that I want to take that are only for seniors.
