Of Sore Throats & Cold Symptoms

I discovered something this morning, upon waking up with the worst sore throat I've had in a while: sore throats are truly the worst of the cold symptoms.

I mean, let's look at this. Congestion: easy. Take 2 Sudafed and drink lots of liquids. Runny nose: take an antihistamine and keep a box of Kleenex nearby. Cough: NyQuil--need I say more? :) But a sore throat...there's not much you can do. Some lozenges help, but other times they just make me sick to my stomach. Drinking helps, but it hurts too. I can't talk, which is probably the most frustrating thing, especially when all I want is to call my mommy for some sympathy. :) Eating is painful, and nothing is appetizing because it hurts. The good news, I suppose (besides the fact that I'm so useless that all I can do is stare at the TV), is that I don't have a fever, so this probably isn't the swine flu. In the meantime, I'm going to stay in this armchair as much as possible, drink lots of fluids, and maybe try to work on school.

Or just stare at the moving picture box. :)

  2. But wasn't it nice that you had someone to bring you things and nurse you whilst you were suffering? ;-)

  3. Yes, it was very nice that I had someone to bring me things and nurse me. I have a pretty awesome roommate. ;)
