I know, I'm horrible at keeping up with this blog. My only excuse is that when your life consists of scouring the Internet for job openings, knitting, and trying to stay (relatively) cool, there really isn't much to blog about. So, rather than try to come up with one topic, I'm going to assemble a few thoughts that have occurred to me lately.
I was not built to withstand Southern heat. I'm so incredibly spoiled by CA weather that the thought that temperatures don't always drop in the evening never even crossed my mind. And I'm not even going to talk about humidity, which might have become my new archenemy. It's funny how your perspective changes though...yesterday it was probably only in the mid to low 80s, and my sister-in-law and I agreed that it was almost pleasant!
There's nothing quite like entering your brother's house and, while you're saying hi and putting your stuff down, having your niece yell excitedly from her high chair "AUNTIE!!!" You can't help but smile.
Getting a 100-pin strike in Wii bowling is really exponentially more exciting than getting a 10-pin strike. Particularly when pins go airborne.
Knitting gives me something to do, and teaches me patience at the same time....especially when I have to take back 6 rows of work to correct a mistake, and when the buttonholes don't turn out right. It also serves as a visual image of why I shouldn't do meaningful things when all my neurons aren't firing. :)
Skype is wonderful. Not only can I talk to my friends and family, but I can see them at the same time!
I kind of wish job rejections would be more creative. I'm getting tired of the same old "After careful review, we've identified other applicants who better meet our needs." I almost want someone to send a rejection that went more like "What were you thinking? Did you think you had a shot at this job? You thought you were QUALIFIED for this? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Thanks for the laugh, that made my day." At least it would be something different.
Aaaaaaaaaand the neurons have quit for the day...they keep doing that earlier and earlier it seems. I'm going to have to watch them....devious little guys. Perhaps inspiration will strike soon and I'll have something to write a better entry about. :)
How did you manage the 100 pin strike? Also, maybe you should look for jobs in Chattanooga :-)
