I've been tackling a new knitting project over the past few weeks. Normally I stick to fairly easy square/rectangular things like scarfs and dishcloths, which are nice since neither has to fit; it's all about following the pattern until you either run out of yarn, or decide you're done. However, I'd been thinking lately about making a sweater for myself, mostly so I would have something to do that I wouldn't finish in a single day (plus, I was beginning to fear that I would have all kinds of dishcloths made and no one to give them to, and I didn't want to start stockpiling them just yet). When I went home for a bit, I rediscovered some yarn that I had meant to make another sweater out of a long time ago, and with the help of my mom I picked out a fairly easy pattern for a cardigan. I have had a few setbacks with it, mainly because of how I misread the pattern or how little attention I was paying to what I was doing. :) But I am making good progress on it, and I felt like sharing how far I've come!
I tried to post a picture of what it will look like in the end, but I was having issues, so word pictures will have to do. :)
It will have longer sleeves, about elbow length, and will be significantly longer (I have about 6 inches still to do).
Here I am modeling it. :) The finished length should be slightly longer than my shirt. The awkward arm is the fault of my picture-taking...I was trying to find a way to take the picture in the mirror without blocking any part of the sweater.
That pretty much sums up what I've been doing when not job searching! When I finish it, there will be more pictures (and a lot of excitement!). :)
Why didn't you get someone else to take your picture?
ReplyDeletebecause that would be too easy. :)
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling you may be right.
ReplyDeleteAnd because no one else was home at the time and there was no place to set up my camera on a self-timer. So there. :-P
