I have some thoughts that I'd like to address to the weather around here of late:
Dear Weather,
Thanks for the 9 inches of snow...it was beautiful and really fun to watch. However, would you mind warming up so it can go away and not freeze over? I'd like the sound of people spinning their tires in the icy parking lot to stop, and I'd like to leave my apartment soon (I'm running out of coffee creamer). Thanks!
Dear Weather,
It's really really cold out. Like, ridiculously cold. I mean, it's hitting single digits. I didn't think it could get this cold here in Alabama. Would you mind warming up just a bit? Even getting just above freezing would be great right now.
Dear Weather,
You make me laugh. Everybody freaked out about the possibility of 2-4 inches of snow; schools delayed opening, businesses prepared to close, and everyone waited with bated breath to see how bad the damage would be. And what did you do? You didn't let a single flake fall (at least not that I could tell). I appreciate that kind of joke (if you don't mind, please don't play a prank by unexpectedly dumping a ton of snow on the area...that joke is really not that funny).
Dear Weather,
Seriously?! Sunshine and nearly 70 degrees??!!! I love you. Even if you are just teasing me with nice weather before you bring winter back with a vengeance.
Dear Weather,
Really? You were threatening to rain all day, with your nasty gray overcast skies, and you waited to dump massive amounts of water from above until I had to go out to a seminar in nice clothes? Seriously? Not cool. Although, I do appreciate that you got it out of your system before I had to leave the seminar.
Dear Weather,
I know, it's February, and that means cold nasty weather. I understand that you're busy up North and probably didn't have time to plan out our weather down here before you left. Still, next time, would you mind shifting temperatures a little more gradually? I'd really appreciate it. Oh, and if you get a chance, could you please send more of that lovely CA weather out here? I'd be very grateful. :)
I enjoyed the warm days. I just wish that I had the time to spend them outside. Oh, well, spring's not that far away.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved the warm days. I spent a couple hours sitting out on my balcony with coffee, good music, and Gaudy Night. Thankfully I did that on a Saturday, so I didn't feel bad about not doing much. :)
ReplyDeleteYay, new blog post! The weather has been completely unpredictable this year. 10 degrees! 70 degrees! And everywhere else in between! Weird.
