The day has finally come...Facebook switched me over to their timeline format, which means I had to spend a lot of time hiding various stories from 6 years ago about what I had for breakfast because no one really cares about that anymore. On the bright side though, I found a rather amusing note I'd written about three-and-a-half years back, at a time when everyone was doing these survey-type notes and tagging other people to do them. Just for fun I thought I'd repost it here, although with a few tweaks since some things have changed. :)
1. The longest, and I mean absolute longest, my hair has ever been is just past my shoulders.
2. Until I packed up to go to college, I had never moved. My parents still live in the same house I grew up in.
3. My favorite color is blue. If you can't tell, just look in my closet. :)
4.
My sister and I were once nearly hit by a wild turkey. I believe that
as the turkey approached the car I yelled something to the effect of
"It's going to peck the car!! Drive drive!!!!"
5. In high school, I once walked out of a volleyball game straight into the middle of a drug bust.
6. I can quote just about any movie I've ever seen, especially if I liked it.
7. I have a love (some might call it an addiction) of stuffed animals. I've gotten past this somewhat, but still have a hard time resisting them.
8. I have never broken a bone (yet), and have only sprained my ankles (not at the same time) and my left hand.
9. I managed to put a scratch on my mom's car even though I had never been behind the wheel. (And now that car is my car.
10.
I grew up in a nice, quiet, suburban neighborhood in California. And in
this nice neighborhood we've had a drug/weapons bust, two house fires
(different houses), an illegal immigrant who tipped over a tree-chipper
and truck in our front yard, and a carjacker who committed suicide in a
neighbor's front yard after crashing the car he stole into a power pole
and taking out our power. Oh, and a house painted Mary Kay pink. :) (Update: apparently the pink house is no longer pink! This is probably not a bad thing though...)
11.
I have scars all over my knees. I think I got all of them by tripping
and falling. It's a good thing my parents didn't name me Grace.
12. My first, middle, and last names all have 5 letters. Random enough?
13. I have really long fingers, at least compared to most of my friends. In my family, they're pretty normal.
14. Until recently, I bit my nails pretty much all the time, but more often if I was stressed.
15.
When I was younger, I always preferred playing with my dolls to playing
with real babies. Probably had something to do with the fact that I'm a
control freak, and you can't control what a baby does. :)
16. My nickname around my family was (and sometimes is) Bubba. Thanks Grandpa. ;)
17. I like to eat vanilla yogurt with sprinkles on it. It all started in my childhood....yes, I know I'm strange.
18. I'm an ISFJ, which means I'm introverted. People have trouble believing that.
19.
I'm a NASCAR fan, and have been to two races. It all started as a way
to fill the time between football seasons, and ended up with half my
family picking drivers and competing.
20. My competitive side
comes out when I play any game with anyone, but particularly when I
play volleyball or Dutch blitz. I hope someday to beat my sister and sister-in-law at Dutch blitz, but they're pretty good...must practice more.
21. I can study while a
TV show or movie is playing, but it has to be something I've seen
before. I'd probably be better off if I studied with just music....
22.
I once had a really horrible pick-up line used on me by a drunk guy,
who wanted to know which one of the group of girls I was with was "going
to be his mystery tonight." He also wanted to know if any of us had
seen Scooby. He ruined his chances with me when he said I looked like the mom
of the other girls. ;)
23. I always sing along with music in my
car. I'm sure this has gotten weird looks from people inside my car and
other drivers on the road, but I haven't noticed yet...too busy belting
it out.
24. Even though I've lived near San Francisco my entire
life, and have gone into the city with friends and relatives on numerous
occasions, I've never been to Alcatraz.
25. During the Loma
Prieta earthquake (a big one in 1989), I moved from where I was with my sister and brother to where my mom was.
Because for some reason I didn't feel safe with my siblings...
So you mean you didn't go to Alcatraz after the drug bust? ;)
