One of my favorite Christmas traditions has always been making Christmas cookies with my gramma. As long as I can remember, it's always been the same: sugar cookies (my great-gramma's recipe) with a basic frosting, sprinkles on top, and three shapes in three colors (pink bells, yellow stars, and green Christmas trees). It took me years to graduate from "sprinkler" to "froster", and I'm pretty sure I only got the job because I was the youngest one and therefore still at home when my brother and sister were at college. :) I still love making cookies (and doing some serious cookie-eating...I mean, quality control), but it's a lot more fun to make them with little kids, and my whole family won't be together before Christmas so we can't do it then. Conveniently I just happen to have two nieces here in town whose parents needed a babysitter this past Saturday, so I roped them in to making cookies with me. :) P is now 4, and A is 2, which I think makes them qualified for Christmas-cookie-making. We had a lot of fun, and I had to take a few pictures to document our accomplishments. :)

P, the best sprinkler I know. ;)
|
She even keeps her pinky finger out while sprinkling. Such class.
|
A quickly figured out that sprinkles are tasty, even when they're not on cookies.

Both girls and all the cookies!

Mmmmm...deliciousness

They think I'm awesome because I let them watch two episodes of the Muppet Show. ;)

P said to A, "Do you want to sit by me?" This was the result (compare with above picture).

A has one too, but I think she's hiding it somewhere in this shot.
I might be cleaning sprinkles out of random corners in my apartment for months to come, but it was completely worth it. :) Here's hoping they'll be willing to help me again in another year!
