When I was growing up in CA, we lived close enough to my grandparents that we got to spend most (if not all) Thanksgivings with them. I don't remember many occasions where we got a lot of family together, though there were always a good number of people we celebrated with. After I moved to Covenant for college and later to AL, I got the chance to spend Thanksgiving with my aunt, uncle, and cousins in Nashville, usually joined by another cousin or two and my siblings. This year, since most of the family is geographically closer than previous years (my parents having moved to Houston and my gramma to Nashville), we had the chance to get even more family members than before together for Thanksgiving! All totaled, I think we had close to 25 people gathered in Nashville, and we had a really great time together. Sadly the visiting and fun ended rather abruptly when some of us came down with an awful stomach virus, though it did give me the opportunity to be extra thankful that I have a doctor for an uncle! ;) Hats off to all the people who cared for those of us who got sick...and if we have Thanksgiving together again next year, let's skip that part. :)
