Well, I'm almost 2 weeks into Christmas break (ah, where did the time go?!), so I thought I should sum up what I've been doing with my break so far. I have eaten several good meals, including one or two with friends, and I've only had to cook once! It's a nice change, even if I didn't cook very regularly at school. :) I've gotten to spend a lot of quality time with my family and my dog, who (or whom?) I missed very much. I've spent a good deal of time watching the Mythbusters bust lots of myths (thank heavens for DVRs!), a few episodes of NCIS, the finale of Monk, a couple episodes of Doctor Who, and the new Star Trek movie (which, by the way, made my head spin until my brain imploded, although it was still a really good movie). And, since it was Christmas, I've been enjoying the awesome presents I got! I am now the proud owner of the original Star Wars Trilogy and the Disney version of Robin Hood, a Dorothy Sayers book, and two cute pairs of shoes, and thanks to my brother and sister-in-law, I have some money to go shopping for interview/work clothes. :) In addition to those, I also got two other presents I am very excited about. They are (drumroll please) an adorable stuffed animal corgi and a Flip handheld video camera!! Pictures are below:

I swear he looks a whole lot like my dog, but this one is smaller and weighs a whole lot less. :)

This may or may not show up at Keller college nights. ;)
I've also been enjoying being able to read for fun once more, and made full use of the library pretty much the morning after I got back. :) I've enjoyed a little G.K Chesterton, a couple random mystery authors, a bit of Agatha Christie, and a lot of Elizabeth Peters. Hopefully by the end of break I'll have tackled two Jane Austens, a little more Chesterton, some C.S. Lewis, and perhaps some P.G. Wodehouse...we'll see how much I can finish in the time I have left! Now on to more frivolity and a bit of time-wasting...it's still vacation, after all.

Yep, it's still vacation. By the way, I knew you'd like Elizabeth Peters
ReplyDeleteI'm reading Chesterton as well! Father Brown's short stories. Love them :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, I just started on a bunch of those too! Haven't made it very far though...the book is too big for me to carry around much. :) Wish I could take some of these library books back to school with me!
